On August 3, 2023, the Iran 1400 Project interviewed Dr. Tom Walsh about the effects, obstacles, goals, and potential transformations of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement. Dr. Walsh emphasized the importance of social media and discussed how it reflects the extensive reach of the movement. He also elaborated on how this movement is altering the character of protests and underscored the importance of local grassroots organizations that prioritize the rights of both women and minorities.

Tom Walsh is a lecturer of International Relations at Northumbria University and an associate instructor at the London School of Economics. He is currently working on a new project on the Iranian women's movement, Iranian state propaganda, and the emancipatory use of TikTok by protestors.
