On August 12, 2022, the Iran 1400 Project had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Mona Tajali about her new book Women’s Political Representation in Iran and Turkey: Demanding a Seat at the Table. In her presentation, Dr. Tajali discussed women’s activism and the gap between women’s political participation and representation. She analyzed political and discursive opportunity structures and the ways in which elites and organizers use them to further their interests.
