Ethnomusicologist & Santur Player

Mehdi Rezania is an ethnomusicology expert and a professional Santur player. He co-founded Baarbad Music and has worked as a music advisor for Iranian Heritage Day at the Royal Ontario Museum and an artistic advisor for the Tirgan Festival. His work for the Iran1400 Project focuses on the evolution of music in Iran during the last century and the impact of politics, migration, and globalization on its performance, composition, and dissemination.
